I’ve found on this page “http://www.lg-hack.info/cgi-bin/sn_prntopic.cgi?cid=2674&fid=2677&tid=2714” that you’ve tried to hack your 37LG5000.

I have this model of LG TV and I already browsed all internet and didn’t found any woking steps to hack my USB on this TV.
It is possible somehow change setting on LG 37LG5000 to use USB port (service only) for play movies, mp3 or pictures ?

    thank you for your answer.

    best regards

Short answer: I’m afraid it simply is not possible. I’ve been searching how to do this for about 2 weeks some time ago, but I finally gave up. I’ve done it successfully though for my bedroom TV set (22LH4000). For my LG5000 I’m going to attach a Raspberry Pi on it to make it a HTPC which will offer much more than just “playing media”. It’ll be out later this month. For $35 it certainly caught my eye (given the fact I moved over to Linux about a year ago)!
